Dr. Formoso

Growing up in Plantation Dr. Meg Formoso knew at a very young age that she wanted to be a "pet doctor". After attending the University of Florida for both her bachelor's degree and her veterinary degree, she returned home to practice. She shares her home with boss dog Benny and frisky kitty Lucy. She and husband Juan have two children- both students at UCF. When time allows, Dr. Formoso enjoys playing piano, traveling, and, of course, Gator football.

Dr. Romero

Dr. Eleonora Romero graduated with High Honors from the University Of Florida College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in 1993. She enjoys educating and working together with clients in order to keep all furry family members healthy. Dr. Romero has resided in Florida since 1982. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. She loves spending time with her husband and college sweetheart, Aldo, their two sons, Gabriel and Daniel, and fur babies, Jack and Scrubs (rescued cat siblings).

Dr. Karina Falcon was born and raised in Puerto Rico and is fluent in English and Spanish. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico, she headed to the Midwest and the University of Missouri to study veterinary medicine. She loves all aspects of being veterinarian! It has been her calling ever since she was little. During her time off, she enjoys traveling, relaxing under the sun, trying new places to eat, and watching Netflix and anime. She and her husband Armando share their home with their college cat Misty and rescue dog Sansa.

Dr. Rodriguez

Dr. Andrea Rodriguez is a double Gator, completing both her Bachelors in Animal Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida. A South Florida native, she knew she wanted to return to her hometown to bring accessible veterinary care to her community. She is passionate about educating owners and improving the lives of their beloved furry family members. Dr. A is USDA accredited, certified in Animal Technical Rescue, and is fluent in both English and Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys camping with her dogs (Allie and Luna) and taking care of her saltwater aquarium.

Dr. Flinchum

Originally from Spruce Pine, North Carolina our bird specialist, Dr. Flinchum, completed her undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University, then attended the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine. She treats birds exclusively- at Nova, at her own bird hospital in Palm Beach county, and at many south Florida aviaries, where her patients include flamingoes and black swans. Dr. Flinchum's written works have been featured in multiple avian medicine publications. When she can, she enjoys spending time with her own birds, as well as playing the banjo and the fiddle guitar.

Karina- Hospital Manager

After spending seven years in the United States Navy Karina made a big career change. She enrolled in Sanford Brown College and attained her associate degree in veterinary technology. She enjoys the unique challenges of helping dogs and cats in a medical setting, but above all else, she enjoys spending time with her son Gabriel and cat Eeve.

Anna- Client Care Specialist

Anna adores animals and has five kitties of her own. Joining Nova in 2020, she continues the work she started with Dr. Bufalieri in 2006. When she's working she enjoys greeting the clients and patients. When she's not working she enjoys traveling with her husband- and napping.

Elyse- Client Care Specialist

Elyse is from Brooklyn, New York and has lived in the Midwest, North Carolina, and the U.S. Virgin Islands before settling in South Florida. In the veterinary field for over 15 years she has a passion for helping clients and their pets through every phase of their journey. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading, spending time with her daughter and sharing her home with her 2 felines, TT and Buppie, and her 18 year old dog Sammy.

Margarita was born in Cartagena, Colombia and moved to Miami at age 9. She loves being outdoors, spending time with her son Cameron and her bird Skye. She loves being a friendly face and making people laugh.

Keziah- Surgical Nurse

Originally from Guyana, Keziah has been a veterinary nurse since 2015. At work she loves helping all creatures, great and small. At home she has four cats and LOTS of shrimp. Her hobby is growing aquarium moss and succulents.

In the field for over 25 years, Sheri enjoys being hands-on with all pet patients- furred, feathered, and scaled. She is often asked for by name. Married with two kids, at home she has three cats, three dogs, and many reptiles of her own.

Haven grew up in Davie, Florida. Being raised around animals she always knew she would end up working with them. At home she has several rescue cats and 3 beloved dogs. Haven loves all animals from horses to hamsters and plans on furthering her education in the veterinary field.

Rachel- Veterinary Assistant

Rachel is 28 with an unwavering love for animals and a passion for art. Caring for your incredible creatures is her greatest joy. From a young age, animals have held a special place in her heart, and now she gets to dedicate her time to their well-being. Whether it's administering medications, providing tender care, cleaning or simply spending quality time with them, she loves every second of her time at Nova. Making a positive difference in their lives is what truly lights up her world. Connecting with nature, exploring new artistic techniques, and spending quality time with loved ones are just a few of the things that bring her happiness.

Lucas- Veterinary Assistant

Born in Miramar and raised in Cooper City, Lucas has worked at Nova Animal Hospital since high school. Currently he is attending FIU. He is a true outdoorsman and loves interacting with nature. He became a certified veterinary assistant through while at West Broward High. His goal is to one day become a veterinarian and he is going to try his hardest to achieve it!
